Earlier today, 17th Tynemouth Scouts took part in our first Scouts in the Community project. 12 Scouts, 5 Cubs and 1 Beaver from the 17th took time out of their busy weekends to help out at the Church of Our Lady & St. Columba in Wallsend. All of the team jumped into action to assist, and carried out a range of work including:
- Reorganising storage inside the church
- Clearing garden waste
- Weeding the garden
- Sweeping the paths
- Polishing brass-work
- Dusting the church
- Cleaning the windows
The Cubs spent 2 hours and the Scouts 4 hours working around the church and the gardens. We hope visitors to the church notice a difference!
Huge thanks to all of the members who turned up today to lend a hand.
